Vision
Before selecting the AWARE Case Management
System, the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation conducted a
comprehensive evaluation of available systems over several years. The
Division's objective was to replace the existing paper file and VAX data
entry system with an agency-wide case management system that streamlined
their business practices and greatly improved their reporting
capabilities.
Approach
Working in conjunction with the Mississippi Department
of Rehabilitative Services, the Division provided feedback to Alliance
on the expansion and customization of AWARE
to meet their specific business needs. Alliance assisted them in
implementing the new system for their agency.
Results
The Division implemented the system agency-wide,
conducted user and administrative trainings and were responsible for
migrating their data from the mainframe to AWARE.
Working with Alliance, the Division developed business practices for
administering the system on a day-to-day basis, implementing upgrades
and maintaining their server environments.
Today
Since implementation, the Division
has been an active member of the Update, Maintenance
and Support Users Group. During this time, the
Division has experienced major retirement turnover
and has been able to successfully transfer knowledge
from the original implementing staff to those
currently responsible for the system.
Agency Comments
"This project provided an extraordinary opportunity
for our agency staff to work with a corporation that
is all about customer service and accountability.
Alliance demonstrated excellent leadership and
support during the implementation of this project
and New Mexico has not only developed a cutting edge
case management system as an outcome, we have also
benefited immensely from the technical and
professional learning experience."
